Doesn’t really look like much, def not the river I used to fish. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to screenshot the video, so I won’t.

This link will take you to a site that will show you current
water level at Choke Canyon and how far away it is from
full. When I posted this at 7:15PM it was at 200 and
the full level is 220 so still down 20 feet.

I caught about 8 foot of water, we used the 99 ramp up to 26 foot low in a 24 foot center console it is now about 20 foot low so it should be easily accessible.

Hopefully choke will be catching a little more water!

Meh, there’s not much coming. It’s in the wrong river to do much good, sad to say.

Oh I agree, just seems like it’s either the Nueces or Atascosa that seem to get all the runoff.

Re: 99 bridge - 10/16/18 05:14 PM
My parents drove over the 99 on the way home from the ranch last weekend, said the frio was like chocolate milk and still moving some.
Anyone know just how fast the water is moving? Was planning on going this weekend, but don't know if i would be able to fight the current.

To 99 bridge??? That might be rough and the fishing would stink due to the muddy water. Take your yak to Calliham or South Shore.
I was planning on scouting for ducks, could have worded that a bit better. Have a John boat with a 25, just not sure if it’s worth the trouble.

Re: 99 bridge - 10/19/18 03:15 AM
Prob not much trouble with that. Might be a pretty decent current up the river. If you go to the main lake (plenty hunt around the main lake) then watch the wind speed forecast. Not sure if you’ve ever been, but any wind over 10mph gets the main lake rough. Calliham would be safe though, pretty protected from the North & South.
Mason Point would be protected from a South wind.
Not sure if Doughtry (misspelled) is open now or not, prob not.

I was there last Saturday and saw a guy in a bass buster with a trolling motor. Not much current. As grout-scout said it be better on the main lake. Daughtry is still closed

Re: 99 bridge - 10/22/18 04:51 PM
17.7 foot low now, its come up about 11 feet. Been a while since there was this much water in it. Hopefully catch a little more if the rain they are predicting continues. The ground is primed if it stays steady nearly everything that falls will be run off.

Re: 99 bridge - 10/24/18 02:01 PM
Up another foot to 16.5 low with a boat load of rain predicted.
