ten point two pounds

ten point two pounds - 08/13/06 01:07 AM

I watched from my boat as my pal made his first cast next to the hickory hills ramp. I was about thirty yards down when he set the hook on what proved to be a 10+. I thought I had him because I had an 8 in the boat and he does that. Ah the fishing at my home on Friday. We were the only two boats on the lake.

Thats pretty amazing, is there anyway you would wanna share the wealth? I'd drive just about anywhere to catch fish like that.

Sorry, I was not trying to be mysterious. The lake is private for gated communities use only. Several guys on the forum have access to the lake so I try to keep them informed.

What time of day did y'all get them? I haven't fished for a while. Been in and out of town a lot. The last time I was there a group of people in a barge came between me and the peir I was fidhing around. I was only about 20 yards from the pier and they came between me and it. I could have touched their boat with my rod tip. They just kept smiling and waving and had no clue what they were doing. The guy driving didn't care and just looked at me like I needed to get off of "his" lake. Made me so mad I couldn't see straight and ruined my trip that night.

We just can't seem to get it going there this year. Only broke 8 lbs one time and that was in the spring. Only one fish over 6 since summer hit. Guess I'll have to start watching with binoculars to learn your secret "LOL!!!!". Just kidding, glad you could put 2 in the boat like that. Congrats!

Only one was mine, the smaller one. My bud got his second 10+ this year, April and August. Some fish for this time of the year. His on a senko and mine on a white chatter bait.
Don't let dumb guys spoil your trip. I was more than likely the same boat that run through a giant school on top while we were catching them. They never slowed down, just waved at us. There are too many places to catch fish here to let it ruin a entire trip. To me it doesn't even call for any name calling or retallation of any type. I just go on and catch fish in spite of their action and lack of class.

Looks like I will be home all this week. If your gonna go again this week let me know and I'll try to meet you out there. Feels strange that we live so close and have probably seen each other on the lake several times and not know each other. Course we might and just not know it. I grew up here and so did my Dad and his dad.

I moved here seven years ago and still work in the metro mess. I more than likely will not be on the lake this week as work m-f and club tournament Sat. Hope you get to fish. Mine is the two story brown house on Callender lake side. It's on the point with top and bottom screened in poarches. Have a pontoon in the water on outside of my dock. If I'm home feel free to stop and visit.

It is about a foot low now. Use care and you can still launch. My old Nitro bit the dust on July 4 so now I suffer in a new Skeeter.

hahaha....Believe it or not, I used to catch crappie below the little spillway, across from the little store...but didn't keep 'em....too small of an area to harvest imo.
