It may be great but that webpage portrayal is really suspect. Nobody rents lodging without providing some pics. However, if you find a good place to stay, post it here because I am interested as well.

I also noticed the pictures but when I looked at the map and the location it looks like DR.

I believe it is. I am just saying be wary of a rental that doesn't show pictures.

According to GoogleEarth, here's a picture of the "rustic cabins".

Yeah, that's American Campground; I've stayed there a few times.
The cabins were clean (this was a few years ago), but the AC couldn't keep up with the summer heat. It was still a little warm in the cabins in the evenings. FWIW, I stayed at the closest one in that Google Street view pic.
It was $40/night and had bunk beds that slept 4, so it's not like you can be that picky, but I'd stay there again.
But the location is good; it's right across the road from Blackbrush.

Hotels in del RIo are cheap and only 5 minutes from the lake.

Not what I expected.. So a hotel or Rough Canyon will be my stopping spot.

I stayed there for 10 years or more when they were wood slabbed; inside and out. It was $18 per night which was the same as a camper pad. You put a padlock on the door while you were out fishing. Part of that time they only had a ceiling fan and two windows. There were hard thick plastic cover mattresses. There was a small picnic table in the room. You brought everything including an extra light bulb. The shower house and pool were always a welcome stopping place before bed time. Each has a grill outside and plugin for the boat. Now they have been updated and I am sure much nicer; but I bet they still have no TV. Ha..
If Tommy at River Street was booked up and could not find me a place as he has many contacts; this would be my next choice.

Little farther than that to the lake ramp.

Ok maybe ten minutes to Diablo East. My in-laws live there right behind the Ford dealership off the main drag. Plenty of restaurants and IIRC Motel6 is only like $49-59 a night.

Just stay at the Remada and have a beer afterwards at the Whitehorse. A very decent breakfast comes with the room rental also. Those cabins look like sh{^^t!,

And no, it’s not 5 minutes from Diablo East, more like 13 minuets..
I used to stay there also. It's really not that bad. Just a cabin in a desert like landscape. In winter they are fine. Bring a small heater.

Just make sure you venture across the border to "Boys Town" and the Corona Club, always an unforgettable experience.

Those cabins are extremely small, you will also have Del Rio Inn, Quality Inn also is ok. Both at the N/end of town .Nothing too far from food in Del Rio. AF Marina has cabins and trailers for rent also.

They have security cameras and a night watchman that drives through about every 15 minutes. There are several of the camp grounds using this guy.
