Headed to LOP in 2 weeks for a HS Bass fishing tournament. New lake to us and would appreciate all advice on location and patterns this time of year.

LAKE O' THE PINES: Water lightly stained; 79-84 degrees: 1.57' high. Black bass are good on Texas rigged creature baits, buzz frogs and black buzzbaits. White bass are good on minnows and topwaters. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on trotlines and cut shad

This time of year I'd stay on the south side of the lake and concentrate on the three big pockets (Alley, Johnson, Hurricane). Steep banks and bridges with t-rig, shaky heads, c-rig...I'd fish them from the main lake points to the bridges, wouldn't worry about going beyond the bridges, though. Use navionics webapp and see where the creeks come close to the bank.

Technically it's just the north shore... When people around here say they're fishing the north side they're talking about up towards the 155 bridge. You stickler
