ABA Tournament Standings/Championship Qualification

ABA Tournament Standings/Championship Qualification - 09/26/17 02:42 PM

Is it true that the ABA Tournament yearly standings/ranking is NOT used to progress to the National Tournament? OnLY the final finish ranking in the Two Day tournament? If so, what is the point to fish all the tournaments, (or three of them to be eligible for the Last 2day Super Tournament)? A person could lead the entire season in Points and "Bolo" on the last tournament and not make the Championship, but still finish in the top 20.

confused

Because there are two open spots that qualify that go to the highest points earners. If there are double qualifiers, it goes to the next person in line in points. Also, AOY I believe gets their entry fees paid for for the following season.

I thought the top 15 or 20 made the championship from each region to progress TO the Championship. This is for the ABA Ram Truck Series draw tments. I am trying to find the info on their page but it very difficult to navigate. I found it. I understand now. The normal season is 4 tournaments. The 2day is the Area Championship, NOT part of the Regular season. Top 20 from the Area Championship progress on. I misunderstood that the 2 Day Area Championship is not considered part of the regular season, like BFL. It is a separate qualifier. Understand now. thumb

No. All fisherman from both regions that fish the required number of tournaments fish the Championship like most other trails do. I will be fishing the Area 7 Texoma tournament on 10/28-29 which are regions East Texas and Oklahoma. It's from that pool that you qualify for the Ray Scott Championship. Also, if they are short on either the Co or Pro side and need to fill out the roster so they send an equal number of each, they pull those from the points standings

They changed that a couple years ago. And have tried a few different things. This was the first year I haven’t fished on the co-angler side in a long time. Good luck. Coach
