How's Rayburn looking? - 09/17/17 04:04 PM
Thinking about spending a few days mid week there. How's the lake look? I can't seem to find anything indicating hurricane damage or flooding. I'm assuming the grass is still prevalent and no surprises.

Should be in great shape. I was at my lake house for labor day and the lake was 3' over pool. It came up 5' with the storm. I saw that the lake is now ony 1.5' high so they are dumping water.

Ya dumping a lot. About 9000 cfs 24hrs a day the past week looks like. They like getting it lower before winter typically.

Just got back from there. Fishing is hot right now probably didn't do 15-20 without catching a fish all weekend. Water looks good and the fish are hungry.

Lake looks great, Corp of Engineers releasing 8000 plus cfs so level is falling, currently 1.25 above pool. water temps 79-83, found fish stacked in a ditch Saturday morning. Good luck

Rayburn is looking good right now. The lake has dropped about a 1.5 ft since the hurricane so its getting close to what it was before the storm. Water clarity is good, tons of grass from mid lake to the south. Shad are starting to spawn and just about every major pocket off the main lake has shad in it. This spreads out the fish shallow, but still good sacks being caught deep.
I'm about two weeks out from getting a chance to fish for the first time in a while. I've been to Rayburn alot, but only to mow grass or stop over night traveling with my job.
Not this weekend but the next I get to fish for a couple of days, taking a few days off.
