It depends on your tip. I build my own rods. Throwing it on a MHX high modulas blank, it was a 7'6" medium fast tip. Cutting 3" off the rod makes it even faster tip. You can't just whip it out there like a weightless senko. Not many rods are rated for a 2.5 oz lure. But with a lews tournament pro I can Chunk it pretty far without loading up the rod

Understood. I throw it on an 8' MH that is almost not enough rod so I don't whip it even on that thing. I will throw a 6xd as hard as necessary though and it will go forever.
