I am fairly new to the map chip thing, but have read good things about both.
The one thing that stands out to me is that with Navionics, you can download the app for your smart phone, tablet or pic. After the free trial period it cost $9.99 per month.
Lakemaster also has the app, but you have to pay for each Lake you want to download.

I run a Lakemaster chip on my Bird. Works great.
I do plan on buying a Navionics chip for my Lowrance units as well.
I've got a helix 7 I've had on my dash since March and really like my lakemaster card.
I have never had a lakemaster chip, so I can't speak for it, one thing that I like about navionics is that you can down load updates off of the internet, the maps are also pretty accurate and far as marked road beds, submerged culverts and things like that. I was pleased with navionics but I think I'm going to give that lakemaster chip a try.
I would suggest take a look at the mapping available from each for the areas you fish most and go with the card that offers the most detail. Both cards are great tools and in certain areas one may shine over the other. For the Navionics available mapping, take a look at the webapp:

+1. I run both and depending on the lake usually one or the other is not right while the other is.
