Saw the Hummingbird Helix 5" at Academy for $200.
Seriously better than my current set up.
Anyone have any experience with them?

Yes. Which model helix? Was it just 2D or was it 2D/DI or SI? What do you want to know? Wayne P on here is an expert and knows more than many of us combined.

Frank.....just the 2D unit.
It'll be front mounted.
Looking to do a better job identifying what "type" of bottom, cover, structure I'm looking at when C-Rigging or cranking in deeper water.

BBG electronics has Gen 1 Helix 7 DI/2D units for for $199. That's what I would do I if was in your situation. Awesome unit for a ridiculous price (not GPS units though). They're in the classifieds section. Great guy to work with.
