Has anybody bought any McCoys in retail stores around Denton/Lewisville?

I haven't seen any around Lewisville, I know Fishing World in Dallas has it in stock, possibly Anglers pro tackle?

From what I heard, it has a lot of characteristics of mono though.

Thad Rains has used McCoys Mean Green for years, hopefully he will chime in soon.

I use it all the time. It's just great, period. Super strong line. I feel like the 12lb mean green is as strong as my 15lb invizx. Use it for many application.

Also, perhaps closer than other suggestions. Southwest Parts.

McCoys is a good blend of low memory and strength. Another good option with low memory and good strength is P-Line Premium. P-Line Premium is fairly thin for its # text rating.

I pretty much changed to co-poly for almost everything. McCoy's Mean Green is my favorite. I couldn't get completely comfortable with fluorocarbon line. I liked the sensitivity and limited visibility of the fluro but everything else sucked about it. Tried different brands and settled on Seaguar as the best but it was actually the "least bad" fluro to me. McCoy's co-poly has the increased sensitivity over mono without the extreme "brittle" feeling, less "kinks", less blacklashing and real low memory. I like it especially on my "feel" baits like worms, jigs... but it works well for cranks, spinnerbaits, topwaters....pretty much everything. I still have braid on my Carolina-rig main line and frog rod. Still use 20lb regular old Big Game for swimbaits but on everything else its pretty much co-poly for me. Like Ken said in an earlier post about switching "caught a zillion fish on fluorescent blue Stren" for more years than lots of y'all have been alive so maybe we fishermen overthink this line thing(ya think?). If there was no such thing as monofilament fishing line right and I invented it I would make a millions $$$. It would be the next greatest, must have, fish catchingest arsenal for that everyone would buy. For now though I like McCoys Mean Green Co-polymer and I always buy it online. No tax, no shipping and shipped right to my house....

I picked up a spool of 15lb McCoys at Fishin' World earlier this week. Can't remember exactly what they had, but I think they had 10, 15, and 20. Didn't see any 12.

I have used McCoys Mean Green 15lb copolymer for years. Used to order it from Brannans but have been ordering 900 yard spools from Tackle Warehouse lately.

YES, it IS GREAT line and I have been using it since 2000, when a friend turned me onto it in Alabama. I order it by the 3000 yard spools when I can, directly from the McCoys Factory, but I have only ordered 3 spools in that time, it is such good line, you do NOT need to replace it like you do Big Game or any flouro. It has GREAT abrasion resistance, VERY LOW MEMORY, STRONG AS ALL GET OUT and has a good amount of stretch. I use it for everything except my C-rig and frog setups. MOF, I DO have 20# on my moving frog rod, Zoom Horny Toad and Stanley Ribbit. I use it for my C-rig leader material and you have named the places I used to pick it up from. Here is a link to their home store, if interested in getting a LOT of it.

Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.
