Junk Fishing? - 07/18/17 02:18 AM
I often hear pro anglers use the term "junk fishing".....I thought it meant basically beating the bank....but maybe not..... who's got the answer?

I've always taken it to mean not fishing a specific pattern.
Fishing without a plan or pattern. Running around until you see something fishy and just fishing it. Kind of a vague concept, but that's what I think they usually mean.

I must be straight trash, that's about the only way I fish.

Basically not fishing a pattern. You go out with 10-15 rods on the deck with something different tied on each one and fish the situation and catching a fish on a lot of different presentations throughout the day without being able to key in on one specific thing across the whole lake.

Put 10 rods on the deck... fish what you see in front of you no plan no pattern

I am the king of junk fishing.
Its just fishing what's in front of you and finding a way to get the fish to bite.

To me, junk fishing means you're not on a specific pattern with a specific bait. You're basically fishing with a bunch of different baits. You may go throw a squarebill around stumps in 5ft of water, catch a few fish, then go throw a football jig in 20ft of water. You might come across some grass and fish a Tx-rig around it, then go throw a spinnerbait around riprap. It's basically just bouncing around with different baits.

I am the king of junk fishing.
I could have sworn is was Swindle, Hackney or Christie.
Thats the way I fish all the time, is there any other way?
