What Fluro are you running?

What Fluro are you running? - 07/12/17 04:45 AM

I have kinda settled on Seaguar Red Lable..I have a few rods rigged with Invizx but the Red Label seems to hold it's own and it's cheaper. Curious what others may be using?

Invizx and Red Label. Red Label for moving baits. Invizx for everything else except top water.

Cant go wrong with InvizX or sunline sniper.

Red Label works fine for a lot less money.

I do not understand why everybody likes InvizX so much. I have tried it a dozen times in different sizes and put it right below Vanish.

Big spools of XPS 14lb and 20lb....

Re: What Fluro are you running? - 07/12/17 11:46 AM

Red label mostly... cheap enough to spool whenever needed and with a little line conditioner here and there it's what works for me.

Re: What Fluro are you running? - 07/12/17 01:38 PM

I use the BPS brand and stock up on it when it's on sale. It's $20-$23 dollars per spool depending on lb test but it goes on sell buy 2 get 1 free every now and then. If I'm in a pinch and need line but don't want to pay $20 for a spool, I go with Red Label

Re: What Fluro are you running? - 07/12/17 02:49 PM

Red label in 15# and 20#, P line in 8#, and 17# either in P Line or Invisx because Red Label quit making it. The gnarly nature of Red Label shows up more in spinning rod/ light bait applications I think.

Not sure what issues you have had. Invisix is great line. Strong as a wire cable. You have to work to break something off. All I use

Red Label, it gets pretty bad memory but nothing some reel magic cant fix.

Re: What Fluro are you running? - 07/12/17 08:27 PM

I fish sunline sniper for jigs and Texas rigs, sunline structure for Carolina rigs, and sunline assassin for moving baits. I think seaguar has much more memory than sunline. Also reel snot works wonders on all flouro

Now THAT is blasphemy..I put Vanish right below Red Label. That said, Trilene 100% Fluoro and InvizX are both outstanding.

Re: What Fluro are you running? - 07/12/17 10:05 PM

I needed some 12 lb flouro in a hurry (ran out of InvizX and needed to respool before a tourney) and all WallyWorld had was Red Label. Big mistake...frayed after just a few casts. Re-tied then broke off and lost a brand-new crankbait. Got home and ordered more InvizX...problem solved

has anyone tried the Cabela's competition series; says it's engineered by Sunline.

Re: What Fluro are you running? - 07/13/17 07:09 PM

Sunline FC Sniper and Shooter, but I'll throw crankbaits on Red Label.

InvisX is fine too, and would be my second choice.

My PB came on 12lb red label for whatever that's worth.

Gamma Edge If you haven't used it, you just don't understand. You maybe have to change it once a year. There are way to many professional championships won off it lately.

I crank exclusively with 12# red label and line conditioner. Never once a break off. The 20# is crazy strong

Re: What Fluro are you running? - 08/02/17 01:23 PM

I've started using Gamma Touch as leaders on my spinning reels. 6lb is more like 12 of anything else.
But the big thing is the knot strength it has. Tie a knot in it and brand x and see how much easier they are to break. Gamma is still super strong!

Re: What Fluro are you running? - 08/02/17 03:16 PM

Tatsu. Is hands down the best f.c. I've tried. can find good deals around holidays to soften the blow of premium line in bulk. I'd like to try gamma edge. For a real world in hand comparison

Red Label. Its the "Big Game" of fluorocarbon...you try the others and always come back.

Re: What Fluro are you running? - 08/02/17 03:25 PM

I still want to know why some folks say "what kind of x" are you running? I'm using the line. Not running anything. I heard a guy on THF ask what scope someone was running on their x rifle the other day.

So where did this originate? Nascar?

I'm running Sunline Super and Sniper. I had gotten away from fluorocarbon until I tried Sunline.

InvisX (15-20) always, co-poly for topwater.

Spinning gear 10-15 braid (832) with fluro leader.

I must have gotten two bad spools of Sunline Sniper 12# AND 15# because they both broke easily. I went back to Invizx and haven't had any problems.

Big fan of InvisX here, I will use some red label here and there in a pinch. I ordered a 1000yd spool on Amazon the other day for $40 less than Tackle Warehouse or anyone else had it. If yall are looking for a deal.

Sure I have, but I have never said "I'm running this or that brand of line"

Re: What Fluro are you running? - 08/04/17 03:17 PM

I have been going through the trial and error process... I was recommended Invizx but decided to venture out and try a few others first. I started with P-Line Ultimate Fluorocarbon 20# on pitchin and flippin.. and I have come to the conclusion it is too stiff and has too much memory - and I even tried soaking in hair conditioner/water over night.. KVD line conditioner.. but still too much memory.

I am now running both setups with Sunline FC Sniper green.. and I have conditioned the line - already seems like way less memory than the P-line...

I have Invizx on the way ... and I also have had several friends recommend going braid... But I'm not sure if my baitcast skills are confident for that yet... I also have been told to just fish mono on pitchin/flippin rigs..

Time will tell... I have no problem right now ripping line off the day after I try it.. until I find something I can manage

For flour-cabron string I choose InvisX. It was recommended by many a few years ago and I don't have problems with it. I load up when its on sale and its semi reasonable.
