Maybe I'll hit Palestine or Athens instead.
Either way.... I've got three days off, & it's happening somewhere!

It looked like the bite was pretty decent on MLF last Saturday.

I was there last sunday and Monday. Everyone thought they were on mlf sunday and Monday.caught a few biggest was two 4 pounders. every fish we caught was over logs into the shallows. Funniest thing I saw was when we were leaving Monday afternoon a Moomba wakeboard was pulling in. Great lake, just everyone was everywhere and running from spot to spot. Even heard a couple of boats talking about the mlf show that was aired Saturday.

Ha good luck, mlf was there during prime spring. Fishing was decent like most lakes during spring. Here we are in summer and everyone expects spring fishing on a lake that is on par with lots of other lakes. It's not the best destination in summer...

I was there about two weeks ago. Tried to fish shallow ... nothing. Found them biting pretty good about one cast outside the boat lanes in 18 to 22 feet of water using hollow bellie swimbaits slowly dragged just off bottom. Later on that afternoon they were schooling in the same places. Only one bite on topwater, swimbait continued to work fishing it about 10 feet under the schools on top. Couldn't get bit on a spinnerbait or jig that day which surprised me. Most 2 to 3 lbs but did catch one that might have gone 4.

They must be doing something right, saw some of them houses on the lake, pretty nice.
