Broke my Falcon T7 Cara

I broke my 7'2"MH Mike McClelland series rod this past weekend, I had it paired with a Shimano chronarck 7.1
It was my favorite setup for pitching small jigs or tx rig ,, I bought it probably 3 years ago at cabelas for $250, back
when work was a lot better.. My question is, I am looking to replace it for maybe $150 or so,, anyone have any suggestions on a good rod ..

I went to the back of the boat to help my friend get unhung and when I went to pick it up it had slid under one of the cleats , and it snapped as soon as I picked up on it just a little...

check with Falcon, they used to have an out of warranty replacement policy to replace damaged rods at a good discount.Not sure they still do that but it is worth a phone call....

Cut the section of the rod with the model number off, put it in an envelope, send it to falcon. Tell them the cara you want to replace it with. They will bill your card for $80 and send your new rod to you. Easy.

Go to Southwest Parts in Dallas and they will replace it on the Falcon replacement program. It is a sliding scale fee based on the rod price.

I bought a couple of TFO rods just to try something new and they are dang nice! I have been fishing the professional series which is $99 and I really like them. I also have some Buccos which are good too and about the same price.

This ^^ However, if it broke on a hookset vs stepped on, then if you ship the entire rod they will determine if it was defect and ship you a new rod for free. All your out is the cost of shipping the rod.

True, but he stated he caught it under a cleat.

One reason I am such a big Falcon Fan other than they make a great rod. I broke a tip many years ago, I called them and explained I got hung on rock and it was my fault for breaking the end. The rep at the time told me they appreciated honest people and sent me a new rod.

I broke the same rod in my rod locker. Sent cut section back in. They called me for payment info. Pretty sure it was $80 for replacement and shipping back.

I will not buy any other brand. Falcon is top notch in my book. I wish they'd bring back their 2-169 topwater rod so I can ditch my all star platinum 783c and have 100% falcon

If Academy has that rod, they will tell you just to go get it off the shelf and your done.

I broke the tip off of one of my Falcons after having it for a little over 3yrs. I sent it back to them. They called to tell me that this rod had been discontinued. They let me pick out a new model. New rod was at my door in about a week. They have great customer service.
