Humminbird Helix Series

Humminbird Helix Series - 05/29/17 02:02 PM

My console graph blew yesterday and I've been putting off new Graphs. I've used Humminbird for years and I'm looking for reviews on the new Helix base or Helix Chirp.

I'm in a little debate on do I stay with Humminbird or maybe switch back to Lowrance again.

Thanks for the feedback...

The helix mega is off the chain. I just ordered one on sale at tackle warehouse.

You'll love the Mega Helix.

Another vote for the Helix. I have the 1st Gen, and really like it.

FWIW, KVD prefers the Helix over the Onix.

I've got Garmin and I love it, but I've seen real images of that Helix Mega, and it's unreal.

They are excluded from advertising them as on sale. They will ring up -15% in "the cart". As per the customer service rep I spoke to..."Kevin".

I'm all the way to the last step before submitting payment and the 10 Mega SI in my cart is still showing 1699. Not sure if they went off sale before now or what.

Call ultimatepassage.com. she will give you a discount when you call her, she just can't advertise the discounted price.

The Helix with mega imaging is really impressive. I really don't like the 898 I have on my personal boat, but I've been using a Helix 10 mapping from my work boat for a couple weeks now and the Helix line has resolved all the issues I didn't like in the 898.

I bought a Helix 9SI this time last year and I was happy with it. Until I got my hands on my cousins Mega a couple of months ago, the detail with the MEGA is amazing. Now I want to sell the Gen 1 and upgrade.

Update for all interested: I had the Helix 10 SI GPS Mega in my cart for 1699 with no discount showing. I called Tackle Warehouse and the guy told me that the discount would show up on my order confirmation AFTER I submitted the order. So, I placed the order and sure enough, the cost shows up as 1444.99 in the order confirmation email.

I have Gen 1 Helix (12 SI and 10 DI) in my current boat and will have Gen 2 on my new boat when it arrives. I love the Helix units. If you have experience with the older 800,900,1100 units they basically operate the same with superior imaging. Also, if you aren't running Lakemaster maps you aren't truly taking advantage of everything they can do.
