I'm going to fish a small farm pond Sunday morning in way north Texas. Any recommendations on what to throw?

I always do best with a weightless stick bait. If there is not a ton of grass or cover I will add a very light weight, usually less than an 1/8 oz.

Never go wrong with a rattle trap. Soft plastics also.

White spinnerbait. The only lure you need.

It'll rain early then clouds and some north wind

I'd throw a frog, buzzbait, and other topwaters all day

If they aren't biting topwaters, chatterbait and spinnerbaits

throw whatever you think is fun. If that doesn't work, throw a ned rig.

Start out with the smaller baits and not too noisy. Small pond fish can be spooky at times.

Spinnerbaits, cranks, and frogs work best for me on ponds. Imitate their pray.

Hard to say, not knowing anything about any structure or cover in the lake.

Emergent weeds - hollow body frog, Ribbit, weedless spoon w/ trailer
Subsurface weeds - floating Rapala, lipless crankbait, weightless, wacky-rigged Senko, H&H with willowleaf blade, topwater
No weeds, timber - Senko (as above or T-rigged), worm, crankbait (with or without lip), spinnerbait, chatterbait
No weeds, no timber - hand grenade

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Micro chatterbait with smallie beaver. You will slaughter 'em.
