Re-waterproofing rain gear - 05/17/17 10:53 PM
I've got a frabill f2 rain suit that I think I need to add some waterproofing spray to. Any recommendations? I think I've seen some at academy before but not sure the brand or if it's any good. Thanks!

Hate to say it but I've never had any luck really making it work
I've tried the spray the wash and even just scotch guard
None of it made any more noticeable different
Needed up buying new stuff

Scotch Guard will help maintain a suits water repellency, but will not "repair" its ability. Nothing will help once it's simply worn out.

I use Nik Wax and it works like a charm. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck. Several different applications, but my best use has been with the gel. Don't know if SnoSeal would work as well or not.

Thanks guys. It's not too bad just not 100% dry after a lot of rain like it used to be. just figured I'd give it a coat/spray down of it to help it last

Check out reviveX. Good stuff.

I have mixed results with it. Of course my suit is 8 years old or so and I'm too cheap to buy another so I spend some time wet every now and then.

My rainsuits are over 15 years old amd Nikwax does the job for me, and I stay dry. They have a wash material or a sponge applicator. Go check them out, and no I am not affiliated with them, just trying to pass on some good info. I have heard good stuff about reviveX, too. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

ReviveX makes the outside layer of Goretex garments somewhat water repellant.
The Goretex layer is waterproof as long as it is clean.
