Needed to get my boat out, hadn't run it for 2 months. Rain looked northwest of RR so headed out. Put in at 7:00 and everything looked good. Caught 3 on a buzzbait early in Wolf then moved to Indian so I could run more gas through the merc. Then things went south. Wind that was out of the south turned from the north and rain and thunder start moving closer to the north end of Indian. Lots of thunder and some lightning north. The storm was backing up and coming at me so headed back to Jordon. Got there and the wind was so strong out of the north that tying the boat up to the dock was problematic, saw bare shore to the right of the ramp but not sure if it's deep enough to drive in there. See a big arse boat coming in fast and decide to ask them if they know how deep it is over there. As I motor to them I yell "do you know the lake pretty well" and had it about half out when I see who I'm yelling at and say "well I guess you do". It was Bill Wilcox and his crew. He smiled and said the right side ought to be all right.
I head for the shore and I see Bill on the dock making signals like he's driving a car, damn he wants to back my trailer in. I back out of the area I was going to beach and swing by the dock and toss him my keys. In the lot he tells me he knows how hard it can be by yourself in that kind of wind. Bill Wilcox is a gentleman and a pretty good kind of guy. Thanks Bill!!
