2017 garmin maps

I read about a week ago that someone got a 93sv and was wanting go upgrade the maps, someone said the new 2017 maps were coming out. Does any know if they did or when they will?

I talked to a guy at garmin customer service today, and to his surprise after looking into it for me, the new maps are out. You can download the 2017 update on their website, and purchase the 2017 lakevu hd ultra cards from them. He didn't think that the 2017 cards had made it to any stores yet. I hope the hd ultra is worth the money.

For the lake the are in Ultra HD it's worth it.

You get a discounted upgrade to the HD ultra maps within your first year, correct? If so how much of a discount on it? I would find the ultra useful for fishing the lakes that have MaxDef.

They didn't give me a discount on the lakevu ultra, and I tried to talk him in to one. It was $200 plus tax and shipping. You get one update to the preloaded map for free within one year.

$169 marked down from $199, if it's the new one, on the website..
does anyone have the new one yet,..does it really show a lot of detail..??

Here is what i was told - the 2017 LakeVu Ultra maps (for $ purchase) were released on or around 3/15 - so you can buy and download that.

If you want to get the updated LakeVu Detail map that comes pre-loaded on the unit, the 2017 release date for that is supposedly May. So if you bought a 93sv recently, i would wait until may to update the base maps since you get 1 free update. or you can purchase LakeVu Ultra 2017 now.

they finally added Lake Lavon in the 2017 version.

Relative to 2017 Garmin mapping, the LakeVu and BlueChart accessory mapping cards/updates were available beginning March 15. However, cards to update the preloaded, built-in mapping won't be available until May 3.
