I found water 52-55 in the same places and time of day it was 57-58 last week and fish that were up have backed off a little. To me it is usually several weeks behind everywhere else. Go fish, you will get a few to bite and maybe a big one!

not many numbers but when you get a bit it is a good one.

Fished Saturday and would not say the bite was "on", best way I can describe it was weird... granted we fished the day after that front and near freezing overnight temps that probably dropped the water temp 5 degrees or more. Still caught fish, but not much quality.

Caught 8 on saturday between 2-4 pounds all before 11AM. Lost a couple that ran straight at the boat as soon as they picked up the bait. After 11AM bite really died for me but I also tried another creek so that may have been my fault. Started out doing good on Chatterbait and tx rig brush hogs between 5-10 ft.

I really struggled last Saturday. Caught a good one early and think got too committed to repeating that the rest of the day. Think I was a few weeks ahead of the fish.

Thinking about going Friday and Saturday. Curious as to what the water looks like.

In the past first week of April was when I started hitting Robert, Now with this warm winter we have had, it will probably get good in a couple more weeks.

It should be a few more weeks before it gets good!

yep.. but this year oddly enough it started getting good in January. I've never had the kind of success on Ray Bob during the cold water months as I did this year on both numbers and size. Still haven't broken the 10 lb mark, but its coming! Basschamps will be a slugfest next month.

Last spring there was flooded bushes and water willows virtually everywhere out to 8-10' of water. As a result, the fish really seemed to scatter because of the abundant cover. We still caught fish but really had to cover water to find them. Has all that brush rotted or is it still a factor? I won't be up there for another month but already planning my strategy.... Also, did the grass come back last summer? Hoping to find a little grass this spring too.

Grass didn't come back very good last summer but I'm thinking this summer it will. I'm already seeing pieces of grass floating in many of the coves.

I wish the grass would come back like it was years ago.... that huge grass flat to the side of Wolf island was awesome!!!!

I loved that hydrilla flat! Ripping lipless crankbaits and spinner baits through it was good times!
