He looks way too comfortable holding it (no strain in his upper back, shoulders, or face from carefully holding a moving heavy fish)
His hands are huge

8lbs--Beautiful fish!

Re: Guess The Weight - 02/22/17 01:45 PM

The fish weighed 8lbs 11oz.

I would have guessed her in the 12lb range based on the gut. Just goes to show you how hard it can be to judge the size of a fish based on a picture. The guy definitely has his arms extended and he's sitting down. The camera is also close to the subject allowing the bass to fill the majority of the frame. Good lessons for those who want good pictures of their fish! Nothing worse than catching a toad and getting a crappy picture!

Now this guy is holding it the proper way to make it look big

Given that you are a guy with plenty of big fish experience, I was extra happy when you were fooled Jaret! Awesome fish you have there!

I was gonna say 12 but knowing it was a trick I looked again and landed on 9#.

Generally I am pretty good at guessing bass weights

Was gonna say well over ten so fooled me. I think if one goes to all the trouble catching a giant then take the time to get a good pic. My best way is to take a lot really fast(minimal fish out of water time). That guys hands are kinda hidden which helps the illusion as well.
