Tauten Linewelder

Some fishing magazines have an ad for the Tauten Linewelder. Device is said to "weld" the line together and eliminate the need for knots when tying on lures. Anyone tried this device/had any experience with it? I tried the search function but didn't find any info in last year.

you would see every pro using it if it was effective and it be all over social media.

I've wondered about that thing for a while but I've never seen anyone use it. I'm curious to see if anyone has any experience with it.
