how does everyone like this rod for swim baits? looking to get into swim baits this year and herd a lot of good things about it. Also, if anyone has an older champion in this model that they are looking to get rid of, send me a pm.

Great rod for mid sized glide baits and some jointed swimbaits. You can through a 8" hudd on it but it feels a little spongy compared to an 807. You can also throw a deps 250 but it's really pushing it.

Sweet spot is 2-5 oz. If your baits are more than that (or if you will throw a lot of 8" hudds), I would go with the 807.

I am blessed with several Dobyns Champion series rods. That said I have a Dobyns Fury 795SB model that I love for medium-heavy swimbaits. Incredibly good rod for a $120 Dobyns.
