Sam Rayburn today

Today was only my 2nd time on SR. 1st time was Saturday and it was pretty tough. Canny creek is loaded with bass right now and today they were busting shad on the grass edges.I absolutely love fishing grass especially hydrilla. I wanted to ride today and check out some offshore structure that I found on the map but the fish were biting so good that I never made it out of Caney. I stopped counting at 20. Nothing really big but consistent bite all day and lots of fun., Most of the fish were between 2.5 and 3.5 pounds. Had 2 that were over 4. Did see a huge gator in Caney, probably around 10ft and very fat.Anyways great day on the water.Cant wait to go back and checkout some deep structure. Yeah I thought it was a log until it started moving. Sam Rayburn is an awesome lake.Bass are gorging on shad right now and Caney is loaded with both.Saw a guy at the ramp who said he was catching some good fish off of a road bed,he never said where at though.

i was there friday and same story
i went to my deep spots and graphed a ton of baitfish but caught nada
was catching shallow with yellow magic at mid afternoon

The Canyons will get hot this time of year also with a bunch of fish pushing bait in.
