Great day on the Vine Monday-----Until - 11/02/16 07:58 PM

Had a great day fishin the vine Monday. Water is still trying to cool off but is staying in the 71-74 range. Fish were extremely shallow and actively feeding almost the entire time i was there. Caught about 12 before my son had to leave and of course! right after he left i caught a nice slot, about 3.5 pounds. She engulfed the crank and had both hooks set in the top and one in the bottom. I actually thaught to myself "dont lip the dam thing" and of course you know what i did. I got the bottom lip free at which time she freaked out and the bottom hook set itself right at the edge of mythumb nail! let the coursing begin realmad

Luckily a guy was setting trot lines and heard me and motored over. He cut one barb and had me hold it down against my thumb with my forefinger and used some line to yank it out. i had seen this done on many videos and they all say "well that didnt hurt" well $%^$& that lol it freakin hurt. Thankyou george for your help and kindness and dark sense of humor! you saved me a trip to the doc and allowed me to fish a few hours.

Good report. Glad the trot liner was able to help. Lots of nerves in the end of that thumb; but has to be so you can feel things in the dark, like tying your shoes and etc... HA.... It may not hurt the next time in a different place. The 5 I yanked out of me didn't hurt at all. Thanks for sharing.

Compression makes the hurt go away. Not too tight; so you may have to redo the tape job to get it right. Just keep it wrapped tight, change wrap every couple of days and peroxide each time. Triple Antibiotic after a few days and continue peroxide.
