I might be stirring the pot, but a couple recent posts I've read blame TPWD for a lot of misfortunes on Texas lakes especially with grass levels. I come from California where bass fishing is eventually going to be shut down in numerous lakes and probably the California delta, the whole state is mismanaged and the fisherman suffer enormously. Leads me to my question and point, we are extremely blessed with how much they care about fishing in general in a majority of lakes and they do care about us.

Can you expand on the reason they may shut down bass fishing in California?? Haven't heard that before.

https://nodeltagates.com/the-crisis/
article on California delta waterways and tunnels they are building to shut down waterflow.
I don't know what the state of the bill is cause I moved 1 year ago to avoid them doing this, but its awful.
Many lakes are kept at 30 percent capacity that feed the delta, with recent rain they gotten they've already drawn down lakes to similar dangerous levels of a year and half ago.
As far as local lakes, they have shut down three lakes to boating in my area do to mussels and boats aren't allowed on them anymore (So no bass fishing), that is a direct result of California's parks and wildlife department. No one fights anything and largemouth fishing in particular has suffered. It is very scary.
It is a real shame because their is an awesome population of bass fisherman and tournament anglers but with no water and mussel restrictions, the states water and fishing has been mismanaged.

We are very blessed to have TPWD managing our fisheries here in Texas. cheers
We lead the way for the entire nation IMO, many of the top pros in fishing would agree and they get a sampling of the what the entire nation has to offer. Rule of thumb is fishermen and truck drivers will find something to complain about even when there really isn't anything to complain about.

TPWD does a good job on some things, but the eradication of grass on all of our lakes is not one of them. Wasting money on spraying and grass carp is beyond rediculous.
