Re: Most expensive bass boat you've seen? - 09/13/16 12:56 PM

Ok....so what can possibly make a bass boat cost $100K? Really. A "fully loaded" boat from just about all manufacturers tops out around 65K-70K. So again. Aside from some losers 17% interest loans payoff, what makes them $100K.

I can not get a boat to be that expensive at any "build your own" boat from any website. Even fully custom paint, dual poles, Ultrex, $500 batteries x4, and 15"'graphs doesn't get me there. Lol.

I guess I could have some $5000 each custom wheels made for the trailer. That would get me close.

There is a used one on the TFF boat sale page for 85k.
It's a couple years old.
That is the highest used boat I have ever heard of.

Doesnt matter if it costs 70k or 100k still over priced. Once you get past 55k you are living a "flashy" lifestyle. Doesn't make you a better fisherman.

So many on the TFF constantly worry about what others and how others spend their money, why is that?

It could easily be renamed the JFF (jealous fishing forum)

Personally I always think it's nice to see others succeed and get to enjoy their money as they see fit.

They had the Triton TRX22 with a 300 a few years ago listed at $103k or something like that.

Not sure that 721 is legit, if it is my 2013 is for sale for $75K!

I did see a Triton at the Houston Boat Show in 2015 that was $102k, but they had it discounted for the show for $90k! Sure dude, I am all over it!

I can't remember what to google but there was a custom bay/bass boat that was black and blue and all deck with a 300 on it. Was sweet and 110k

Really? How many people do you think can afford a $55k bass boat? I'll bet the guys with $25k rigs think the 55s are flashy. And the bank fishermen probably think the 25s are flashy. It's all relative.

And I don't consider financing a boat for 120 months as being able to afford it.

Bass Cat had a Jag with a 450 Verado (I believe) on it last year, I bet that would be way up there price wise...

Yep....it's the financing part that makes me want to puke. I have never owned a boat that cost more than $3000 to buy. Yep they are used....yep they were nasty looking.

Some day, I will buy a nice new boat....but not until I have the means to pay cash for it.

A quick look at each of our checking accounts and it would be obvious what our obsession is. If it's having a new bass boat, more power to you. Some prefer beer and cigarettes.

I'm like Doug.... I like seeing others doing well and enjoying a brand new rig. If you've got six figures to drop on a boat, that's awesome.

Prices well into the 100k are very common over in Japan, Sold a Ranger to a guy that lives over there that was sight unseen. It cost less to purchase here and ship it over there.

Re: Most expensive bass boat you've seen? - 09/13/16 09:15 PM

$100,000 bass boats is just hard to imagine for this fat old whiteboy especially when I come from a time that my dad use to purchase the boat and the trailer, then shop around for a motor. He bought his first ranger from barber boats when they were on industrial blvd in '71 for the ungodly amount of $1650 and it was a brand new blue/white TR-3. Then he bought a 80hp mercury from anglers marine in duncanville. Man we were doing good as we pulled it to tawakoni with his '68 chyrsler and launched at duck cove.

Billy,

Saw this one in the water this past Saturday = Statement with four 400 mercs. My guess is that this Center Console would be in the 500k range.

Re: Most expensive bass boat you've seen? - 09/13/16 09:45 PM

I've been noticing that used boats over $30k aren't moving on here and there's a bunch of $50k that really aren't selling. Then I see guys selling (trying) used fx skeeters for $65k, nobody's going to buy a used boat for $50-$65k when they can buy a brand new boat for that price, it's crazy.

So anyways, I am wanting a 2000-2002 skeeter ZX 225 or ZX 250. Anybody want to sell theirs?

With Legend you can buy the graph's yourself and save some dough and then they'll install them when you build your boat. 5k for a graph is ridonkulus

I've seen a few priced in the 60's and they seemed quite loaded to me. I wonder what a 100k bass boat is really worth after a years depreciation.

Re: Most expensive bass boat you've seen? - 09/14/16 01:08 AM

My 2004 paid for Skeeter ZX 225. I like to keep my boats in good shape and good running condition. Every time I take that sucker out I see something that needs replacing or upgrading. OEM nuts and bolts for boats cost four times as much as I fell they should. I would hate to add up the $ I've spent over the years on a boat.

The most expensive bass boat I have seen was a Jaguar with 400r Mercury. With rigging I was told the 400r is pushing 35k. However, I'm not a Mercury dealer so I do not have facts on this.

It had to be my bass boat. Bought in '80, fully loaded with flasher and graph. It was about 29k I believe. Lots of money in 1980.

I just can't picture a boat having enough stuff on it to warrant a 100k price tag. Unless it comes with a doppleganger to handle all of the honey-dos so I can fish more.

Yep, it's way easier to judge someone and their own personal life choices. Live the life YOU want. If that's a frugal lifestyle that's great, if it's an over the top lifestyle that's great too. And finally if you don't like your lot in life you can always hustle a little harder and change it...

If I had 100k to spend on a boat, I'd get a few boats.

A nice 21ft 'all around' rig
A 22ft deep V hull boat, maybe even a bay boat, for fishing deep on rough water.
And an aluminum boat with jet drive to get up creeks and rivers
