I don't usually bass fish..( crappie is my thing ).. but when I do, I've always used zoom plastics...so I'm not really up on all the new companies and products on the market.my nephew and my son are tired of crappie and. cat fishing, so I'm taking them bass fishing this weekend...funny thing is I've caught more big bass while crappie fishing, than I ever did bass fishing.

If you want something that will float with a hook in it, you want elaztec or something with air chambers in it.

Zoom plastics, and all other 'normal' plastics, do NOT float. Put a 4\0 hook in one and drop it in the pool- sinks like a rock.

All of our baits float....you don't necessarily need elaztec to float a hook...just the right plastic mix...our rana4.0 floats a 4/0 Owner ewg plus...

Looks like the Grande Bass Airtail baits float pretty damn well from the looks of this video.

I am going to give some of them a shot.

I was confused about the zoom trick worm until I realized they make two versions-the original
which does float and the salt plus which does not.

Finally got them to open so I could see them....Those look great..do you do anything comparable to a fluke, brush hog, or trick worm?

Those airtail wigglers look pretty good. Ordered a few packs and will see how they work instead of the Zooms I typically use.

Roboworms float, but do tear up pretty easily. Kicker Fish Holeshot worms have a floating tail that floats up well. Zoom Trick worms sink slowly but do not float (original ones anyway).

I'm learning a lot..thanks for the replies. I guess what really matters to me is finding a soft plastic that will float a 3/0 or 4/0 hook...the stand up thing is new to me,and there are some great products that work for that application.

No air chambers or elaztec needed...

Re: Soft plastics that really float? - 08/20/16 08:10 PM

All the baits mentioned in previous post will not "float".
They will "stand up" when paired with a hook and weight.
post a video that shows me a bait that will actually "float" a 3/0 hook.
I want to see a bait that you can rig to fish and float it over weed beds.
is there one of those ?

I don't really know if it floats or not but the KickerFish bubble fry is deadly on a Carolina Rig.
