I've never fished with flouro line before.. I know,I know " Where have you been?" I've been using Trilene big game for years now in 8,12, and 15#...

Anyway... Brands, weights, issues, School Me..

Best for the money is seaguar red label. Line conditioner will go a long ways also

its great line but learn how to knot it correctly or you will break off on hooksets and hate it. many guys prefer the san diego jam knot, its easy to learn and pretty fool-proof.

brand i am sure there's lots of good ones, i use Seaguar Invizx and buy it in 1,000 or 3,000 yard spools on sale so it doesn't cost me $25 to spool up a reel. buying a premium line like that you don't have to re-spool nearly as often. If you get some memory in it, tie off an end to a fence post, walk about 50-75' and give it a gentle stretch, memory is gone.

Seaguar InvisX, back your line, learn the blood knot, only need about 60 yards of flouro on your spool.. saves you a bunch of $$

make sure you get your line really wet before cinching it down, never had a problem with a palomar.

Also check for line fray every one in a while and after every big fish. I retie pretty often, doesn't hurt anything except avoid a disappointment.

The 20 pound test is about the diameter of the 15 Pound Big Game your using. Very good line. Same as above, make sure you tie a great knot.

I use the Vicious flouro. It is on level with Seaguar Red Label as far as price but is not near as rigid in my opinion. I have never had an issue with it. The one common thing you will see here is make sure you take care of the knot when tying. I like the San Diego Jam myself.

you said school you.. +1 on Invivix.. good as it gets. The issue with the knot is flouro has a much higher surface tension that mono.. meaning when you cinch the knot down, the friction of doing that makes it get hot.. and that heat weakens the line to the point that it will absolutely break on the hook set. Happened to me a bunch. I use flouro as a leader more than filling a spool with it any more but that is more a reflection on how I fish than anything else. You will definitely notice better feel with flouro.. it doesn't stretch as much as mono. I use a palomar on my drop shot rig, but still use an improved cinch knot on other baits. Just make sure you get it wet before you cinch it.. Flouro sinks.. mono floats. In gin clear water.. the fish can't see flouro.. they can see mono. I use the Improved Albright knot to join braid to flouro.. works great. Since you are cinching the braid down on the flouro.. you don't have to wet that one.

Seguar red label 15 lb. It's 11 dollars for a 200 yard spool at Academy. I pretty much only tie the Palomar knot and I've yet to break it off. Just wet the line really good and it'll cinch down nice and tight.

Invizx is really good although I have tried 1 spool of Tatsu and I will put this super expensive line on 2 reels and 2 reels only because of the cost, 20lb test It is thinner (like 17lb test) and has less memory. Its the best line I have used.

I have heard sunline has some similar product that I havent used but I know alot of pros use sunline.

So I would say invisx for a still pricey but very durable line and tatsu is the best but at a much higher price.

Invisix +1000 hands down best there is and yes wet what ever your favorite knot is(if Palomar make sure the two pieces of line don't cross going in the eye of the hook). If you can afford red you can spare a few more for yellow. I was upset they didn't have anything 15-20 no 17 but soon found out unless fishing fork and falcon type cover the 15 is plenty. Not that the catch rate goes down using 20 wish the would make flyfishing tippet in the 3lb range be the only line on every rod!

I buy XPS braid on sale. Does me well and it's the cheapest.

Sunline fluoro is the best! believe it! Some diameters are smaller than the invizx, etc. for the same stated test, and even small test is almost impossible to break.
