I've heard both were good and was debating on getting one or the other. Anyone use either one of them and how were they?

If you are talking about Powell fishing rods, they are super rods. I have at least 20. Great product
I have three Powell rods and think they are good for the price. Haven't used No.8.

I currently own Powell spinning rods & have zero complaints. I think No.8 is the lower price point brand of 13 Fishing - I may be wrong. I have heard numerous complaints about breakage with 13 Fishing products, however nothing but positive reviews with their customer service to handle the problem.

Powell rods are very good. I have 2 and have no complaints.

I have almost every Powell model made and they are all great rods.
