Usually always Okeechobee or Toho first.

Pretty crummy schedule

The merging of FLW and MLF continues. Wow, could they be any more obvious in lake selection. Yeah, If the included Caddo. I guess Travis will be on the MLF charts this year!

Not seeing much to get excited about here.

I do not see this schedule increasing interest in the FLW Tour. FLW does a lot stuff right but not the Tour schedule.

The last two MLF events were Lakeland, FL on Harris Chain and the Mississippi River in LaCrosse, WI.

They seem to be overlapping quite a bit the lakes they hit, and more FLW anglers are joining the 'Selects'. Just an observation.

Means absolutely nothing! By the way, Lakeland, Fl is not even close to the Harris Chain.

Just an observation

It may just mean those are the cities willing to pay big money to have tournaments come to town.

This is what I'm thinking. FLW is chasing the money.

Does Lake Austin fish good that time of the year?

Lake Austin is dead at the moment and has been for a while now, at least compared to what it was. So dead they quit having the Wednesday nighters out there. I doubt it'll rebound between now and then.

There's a good chance it will be pretty cold for the Travis tournament too.

Terrible. I'm curious to see how many more FLW kings come over to BASS.

They'll catch a ton of fish on Travis for sure

Numbers lake? Many big ones?

Seems like a good thing when the FLW or BASS come to town. Travis might not have been my choice for an opener but at least it's in Texas. Seems like a win - win for all Texans.

lake Austin and Lake Travis are two different lakes

They've been to Travis in the past. Lots of limits. As far as lake Austin, it's an afterthought at this point. I'd rather go to LBJ in February

What do you guys think a city pays to bring a Tour level event to town?

I would hope they are following the money since after all they are a business,

I would have thought Travis would be full by now but it is still 35 foot low.

Travis is 100% percent full

Re: Flw 2017 schedule - 07/16/16 09:35 PM

I dont see how Jonestown texas is paying big money to bring a fishing tournament to town. 2 gas stations and one red light in whole town. Maybe cedar park is forking over some. Travis will be fun in February.

Travis is going to surprise some folks. If we can keep the water in it (or at least most of it), there will be some nice stringers brought to the scales. Not 35 pounds in a single day, but still nice.

I agree Mark, do people really expect them to not follow the money! I don't know how tournament directors do it, past few years everyone complaining the FLW sticks to the same schedule they need to change it up. They finally change it up and now everyone is still complaining.

City of Jonestown and Austin Sports Commission are hosting the event.

the app on my phone is messed up because I looked it up and it is full. I thought it should be full with all the rain.

Re: Flw 2017 schedule - 07/17/16 12:36 PM

For those complaining regarding locations here's a little perspective. FLW, BASS and to some extent MLF rely heavily on host fee agreement revenue as a part of their business model. The economic impact of these types of events in both real dollars being spent in the local economy and the long term benefit of the TV and digital exposure are important to many CVB's, Lake Associations and Chambers of Commerce.

Add to this the fact that there are only a small number of lakes with organizations capable of paying these types of fees and it makes it very difficult on the big 3 to make the schedules work and avoid one another.

They don't care what our opinion of their lake selections are I assure you.

people on Lake Travis don't like fishermen

People on lake Austin don't like fisherman, they paid to kill all the grass and they harass you when you're near their docks, never had a problem on Travis
