Ranger Dealer/ Buying Suggestions? - 05/29/16 11:25 PM
Gentlemen,
I am ready to pull the trigger on a Ranger RT188 with a Yamaha 115, power pole, and 2 HDS9's. (I know its not a $60,000 rig but i don't wanna be boat poor!!) I live near Tyler and I am looking for some feedback on dealers. I called a couple local dealerships and they seemed uninterested in my business. Advice on finding a dealership that acts like they want to sell a boat? I don't mind driving at all.
I am looking to either trade my current boat or I may try to sell it on TFF/Craigslist. The dealerships here didn't seem interested in trading... I currently own a 2015 Xpress DBX rigged up for bass fishing. Advice on trading vs selling out right?
I am looking for whatever wisdom you guys can offer.

Sell your boat first and then go shopping.

If you sell your boat outright, you know exactly what you got for it. Deal direct with Fred Barthold at Diamond Sports. He will treat you right. He is a straight shooter. He runs a business and has to make a profit but he will deal.

I bought an RT188 in February and am very satisfied. I found it through theTFF so it wasn't from a local dealer. I had priced one at Cabelas and was told there is little room to negotiate. Also, I sold my Tracker on Craigslist and it worked out well. PM me if you have questions on the boat.
