I run the Navionics platinum or the Nav+ in each of my (3) Helix 10s right now. You can see the latest and all available mapping for Navionics for free on the website webapp.

Does lakemaster work in lowrance gen 3?

Depends on where you fish. I prefer Lakemaster for humminbird because of the lake level feature and the ability to link with the ipilot. But, Navionics shows more detail. On my normal lake, lakemaster pretty much sucks for anything over just navigation. My preference is to get both and use accordingly.

For guys that like lakemaster, is it because of the lake level feature and link with TM?

From what I saw on joe pool for example the navionics seems to have more details.

Yeah, JP is not an HD map. You only get 5' contour lines and not much extra info. Don't know how Arlington is HD and Pool isn't.

I have both. Started with the lakemaster but had to get the navionics because I fish Joe Pool a lot and the lakemaster map is just about useless when it's not HD. I was fishing lewisville the other day and was switching between the cards. I have to say the navionics shows more detail.

Don't forget the navionics phone app though. I have found that to be very useful because of the community waypoints people have added. A lot of the waypoints are names the locals have given to structure and it helps to correlate what you are reading on the forums to the actual structure on the lake.

Also you can overlay AutoChart details over your Lakemaster charts.

I may have to buy both. Have to lake masters for both of my Helix units. I am way impressed on the HD lakes! Love my Helix's from Shut-up-and fish!
