What rod do you use for your yellow magic or other top water baits? Medium or medium heavy action?

For poppers like a yellow magic, I use a medium action. Walking style baits like a spook, I use a medium heavy.

My preference is medium action fiberglass with a fast action tip.

For poppers I like a medium action but for prop baits or spooks I like a medium-heavy.

I use a medium 7'2" extra fast rod made by Cashion.

I use a 7' medium spinning rod with a fast tip and 20 lb braid line for poppers. I use a 6'6" medium heavy baitcasting rod with mono line for top water baits like spooks.
I also throw frogs, buzzbaits, and the bbz-1 rat. Since nobody else throws those baits in Texas, I won't go into details. 😜
