If you were going to take a few days and fish Texoma for smallmouths, where would you fish, upper, middle, or lower lake? Where is a good place to stay, not camping but clean secure marina, or motel?

That's top secret info your asking for right now friend. The bite is real tuff right now but you can catch a few fry guarders in the shallows. It's a grind though. Good luck

I would stay at Little Mineral or Light House Marina, they are both located near the lower end of the lake, I am not a small mouth pro at all but I would try all the rocky points on the lower end near the dam and the dam itself, I would also venture up the Washita arm doing the same thing, good luck.

The lake just now is getting back to normal level after another flood. The water is the color of red chocolate milk. The fishing is not that good now. Typically the smallmouth run from the mid to lower end of the lake. There are several motels in Denison on hwy 75.

Lower lake bluff walls and rocky shores down by the state park have always been good to us for smallies. Top waters like YM, small medium diving crank baits, and hard body jerk baits in shad patterns have always produced well for us. If it is slow a shakey head green pumpkin trick worm with the tail dyed has also worked well in the past. I have not been since last fall and heard it was muddy up there so this info may not work at all but this has always been the way we fish up there and has always been a lot of fun!
