I fished the areas you are talking about and haven't found the numbers but caught some nice fish on a tx rig power worm. The day before I had luck with a square bill in the back of a couple pockets. The lake has been on/off for me. Somedays I can pull up to a spot and catch a bunch. Other days I'm going down the bank trying out the flooded stuff.

Nothing in particular. I put the TM on high and started trying to cover water when I was tired of flipping/pitching.

i used a black lizard with blue tail- flipping it into the tree line and worked out. they would hit it (when i say they it was only 6 of them LOL) about 2 feet from tree line. my 2 cents.

Texas rigged Berkley havoc pit boss in green pumpkin. I've been fishing them as far back in the brush as I could and I have been killing them. Mostly slots but it's still fun!

I'll be there Saturday am too. Look for me. I'll show you some spots. I no longer have a jeep. So don't look for it at the ramp. Truck is a new 4x4 black tundra. Boat is a white black and red Nitro.

I have had two break off on me out there so far this year. Both of them where good fish, the one the other day was a pig, broke off at the boat. Both times it was my fault. The fishing has been slow unless you are fishing for dinks but there are some big ones out there. We lost a big one and caught a 7# and about 30 smaller ones on Saturday

Have you fished with a shakey head before? They are a little more weedless than just regular jig. I like the Owner shakey heads that have the screw on keeper.. I've had pretty good luck with a 3/8" oz using a Grande Bass 4.75" snake in black blue up shallow. Pitch it up into the skinny water flooded trees..

Cedar hill south is open as well. Lloyd and Lynn you will get wet...dock ramps were under water at both of those since the rain. Don't know about Cedar Hill. Never go there.

Haven't had any luck this year with square bills. They like a texas rigged watermelon red baby brush hog pitched. It has been kind of on and off with the weather. Fished it today and tried all over the lake and only got 3, between 1-2 lbs. If you want numbers, you can just go shallow in pockets. They are pretty spread around on the lake.

Try fishing dam have your boat in 10 to 12 ft of water throw toward shore and drag a Carolina rig watermelon lizard dip tail in spike it charturuse
caught several fish up to 4 pounds using this tactic over weekend.

That would be cool if it was the same fish, honestly I got a pretty good look at her before she broke off and I would guess size wise it would equate. I'm just not sure you are fishing the same area of the lake that I was the other day, but if you could tell me what kind of hook it was, then we might be able to dig a little deeper....

Even a blind squirrel like me can find a nut every once in awhile. I have many trips out there with nothing but that typically happens when I'm throwing big baits and trying to focus on a few big bites. The other day was a little more of what I would consider finesse fishing. Not really but it was for me. And it was the best day I've had out there this year for sure.

well only managed 2 on sat. but i did see a huge bob cat on the west bank of the east arm of the lake. it just got to windy and everyone was practically on the same side of the lake. i packed it up about 1245.

We went Saturday and caught 28. Dinks, but was fun. Power worm, drop shot and baby brush hog..

Re: Joe pool help please - 05/09/16 02:31 PM

I had a crappy day Saturday from sunrise to noon. Fished up real shallow in the flooded stuff and had a few missed on short strikes with a spinnerbait. Nothing on jig, tx rig, wacky senko. Finally positioned away from the bank and started catching them on a drop shot. Had a few on square bill by the dam.

Sunday was good for me. Caught 25 mostly 12 to 14 inches but did catch two 4lbers and three around 3.5lbs. All on square bills and baby brush hogs. Caught 1 bigger fish on jig. Fish the willows and don't be scared to get the bait in there.

Yes sir. This guy knows one of my "secrets". Lol. Something about the green leaves hold them a little more than the rough stems of the dead stuff.

Re: Joe pool help please - 05/10/16 11:11 PM

Steez, was that you about 0930ish on the east side of the west arm close to the the bridge with only the back end of your boat sticking out of the tree line? wasn't sure it was you so i didn't approach. cause if i did and it wasn't you then you would be reading about me poaching someone else's spot.
i thought i also seen wagonwheel in the parking lot but wasnt positive if it was him either. brown boat with black motor.
