PK Water - 05/04/16 04:11 AM

Flew over PK today and it was crazy how muddy up the river it was, but at the dam it was crystal clear, the breaking point is South D&D

Hubbard Creek looked decent as well , as in not too muddy.

It's stained, so the further you go back towards the dam, the clearer it gets

I'll bet that fishing is good again there. At the Media tourny a couple weeks ago it was tough but the fish were still trying to spawn. Now that it has calmed down some they should be back on it.

Just left from there, put in at State Park and fished my way up to Brushy Creek, In those areas it's a mud hole, bad muddy. 3 little dinks this morning. Didn't see one Bass boat on the lake.

The No Fee is not right. There is a $5 lake permit that you need each day.

You might want to be sure YOU know the laws before posting information. The BRA did away with the lake permits last year, no longer need a BRA permit.

So you can launch for free at DnD and DO NOT need a permit for those asking

Was there today and the lake looks good from south D&D down to the dam. And as stated above you DO NOT need a permit to launch and fish the lake. BRA guys were there today and I asked since I had not been since this time last year.

How far up the Brazos is the line where the stained and muddy water meet? I understand it is clear from South D & D to the dam. I was hoping bass in the stained water would be biting better.

1/2 mile max past South D & D and it turns real muddy

Thanks David! More rain forecasted next week, lake may be stirred up for a while. I guess they still have gates open on PK letting water out?

Re: PK Water - 05/06/16 03:03 PM

Gates are not open much. Just for river flow about 200 cfs.
