Fishing Guide - Learning Deep - 04/25/16 10:09 PM
Looking for a guided trip to learn how to fish deep water, it is on aspect of my fishing that I haven't mastered and I know its big time on electronics. I want to know what to look for and how to do it.
Any guides specialize in this?

Caldemeyer or Duplchain. Two of the best deepwater guys in the state.

Until the water clears up some, none of these lakes will be great for offshore.

I've fished with a lot of guides at Fork--The two best I've seen for deep water are Caldemeyer and Pack.

Very good at deep water fishing. Better get your reeling arm in shape. If he long lines all day it will beat you down especially if you have to filter through the sandies to get to the blacks. Some of the most strenuous fishing I have ever done. On the bright side I guess you can keep a few of them sandies to eat if you like them.
Mark Pack or Darold Gleeson at Toledo bend IMO

Mark Pack. Best deep water fisherman that I have ever fished with. Knows how to find them, and knows his electronics. He is an outstanding teacher as well.

I've been on a mission for the last year to learn to fish better deep. So burned out on beating the banks. Clark Reehmm has helped me tremendously on Rayburn. On Toledo Bend Darold has been a stud. I've booked him a few times. We stay in 15+, graph areas, shows me what we are looking at, helps with understanding angles and boat positioning etc. We see the fish and then catch them. He's regularly on them and aint afraid to share them with you.
That fishing off shore isn't easy and isn't for everyone but I'm convinced that if I want to do well, regularly, I gotta learn it.
Next time I go to Fork I'm going to try and book Mark Pack.
