In my opinon the 734 is the most versatile rod that Dobyns makes. We have several. For my way of fishing I would go with the 734.
I like the 733 for lighter stuff

I have a 7'3" MH halo twilight that I like but wanted to step up to a Dobyns. If i can get that action in a Dobyns I'll be happy

I have both and as mentioned above the 734 is as close to a "do everything" rod as I own. For Texas rigged plastics it really shines. With the exception of larger jigs or big plastics(10"-12" worms...) a T-rigged 734 is always on my deck. My 733 is what I throw smaller squarebills, yellow magics, weightless Senko's, wacky rigs...and it's great for these. Honestly, for my type fishing the 733 is almost a finesse rod.

This. 361V nailed it. (The 734 is also great for lipless cranks, buzzbaits and spinnerbaits)

You will be glad you got the 734. Almost the PERFECT all around rod out there. So versatile that it makes others in the dark. GREAT ROD. Good luck with it. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I have a 733 and a 734 among others, but I would go with the 734 for sure, probably the most versatile rod in their lineup.
