Top hook 3:16 Rising Son

Top hook 3:16 Rising Son - 03/26/16 11:51 PM

I just got my weighted, top hook opinion Rising Sons. I wanted the weighted to fish the 3'-5' range and to use the top hook opinion. You have to go through the bait , across the weight and back through the bait to have a top hook. This really seems a weird way to get a top hook. Seems it could cause some line breakage. Please chime in with your thoughts and experience on this.

so you want an opinion on a top hook opinion? (Maybe that was supposed to be OPTION?, LOL)

The top hook version has been around for several years. If you're using heavy enough line, like you should be anyway, that routing isn't going to cause line breakage.

It's a bit weird way to do it, for sure. I certainly like the idea of top-hooks, and do use them on other baits, partly to help NOT "catch" what doesn't let me have the lure back, LOL. I like the 3:16 baits, but just haven't used that one with top hooks. The Huddleston is my favorite with a top hook.
