Made it back in from my TX Bass Nation weigh in to jump in my Chevy with Wi-Fi to watch Rick Clunn take SJR by storm on Sunday. Rick and I go way back to the 1980's, as well as competing again each other in the Opens ~ I was there in July 2005 in Philadelphia, PA when he was named "Greatest Angler of all Time", I was there as a media camera boat for the 2013 Elite Series on Falcon Lake and watched everything play out from my boat in this video by BASS Photographer James Overstreet.
He lost that event due to a day postponement of high winds, but Sunday he got it done.!
I just saw him in Tulsa at the Classic and gave him a big hug for the upcoming season ~
Congrats my friend ! "I'll be an old Troubadour when I'm gone"

Thank you for the great video with music! I've followed Clunn's career since the 1980's and got to marshal for him in 2013 on the Sabine river. Competed against him in 1986 on Rayburn in the Texas Invitational. One of the best!

You would be correct as stated in my message above "I was helping as a media boat". Nothing like watching it live smile

He's a "Class act" and one of the Greatest to ever wet a line! Had been casually following the St Johns event but once he brought that HUGE 31lb sack to the scales was sure rooting for him to HOLD ON!! The influx of younger anglers is crucial to the sport moving forward but its AWESOME to see an older angler still put on a show!

Saw him on the Bass Pros just today.
He said he's always having to re-invent himself and challenge himself.
He's sure done that!

Way to go, Mr. Clunn.
Keep it going!

Is he now the oldest angler to win a major event? I think he is 69.

Troubadour was an old bar room singer in the western days. Traveled the west singing in bars and restaurants for a living.

I believe that the term goes back to pre-Columbus in Europe - to mean any traveling performers, but particularly singers/poets in most cases. It's a lot older than western US singers.....
