I've read a few posts on here about bass shutting off on Fork when they're releasing water (current). Other lakes, Grand, Kentucky, Murray, say fishing turns on when there's current. Why are Fork's fish fickled? (Say that fast!)

Don't think Grand is, but the other 2 are hydroelectric lakes, meaning they use water flow to create electricity. Water release is more a constant there than a place like Fork (this past year notwithstanding), where the dam might not be opened for months. Fish on Kentucky have to adapt to the atmospheric conditions. Lavon is another place where open gates shuts down the bite. Ray Hubbard may be the same way, but I wouldn't know since I don't fish that hell hole.

OK. Got it. Hadn't thought about the infrequency.

Have been at fork last two days and fishing has been great. Caught around 30 bass yesterday after lunch. 10 where on a top water and caught them all in less than 3 ft. All in thick grass
