The Lake Conroe Big Bass Classic has been cancelled due to the lake closure. We will reschedule the event.

I like how SJRA says its for the safety of the boaters when in really it is most likely due to the big money homeowners complaining about damage to their property from boat wakes.

Yep we can no longer be safe, someone else has to do it for us, cause we can no longer think for ourselves!

Guess I'm not gonna win that GoPro.

Haha. Did it as soon as I found out the lake was closing. All in fun. Looking forward to finding out the new dates.

The new dates are on their website, looks like October 8th-9th. These guys run an awesome tournament and I will definitely make the October event. Thanks Mark for the quick heads up.

This event is always scheduled on the same weekend as an RHBC tournament. Sorry to hear about the circumstances but I hope the reschedule works so I can make it!

Because RHBC tournaments fish 52 weekends out of the year...lol

Couldn't fish this weekend, so was hoping to fish the rescheduled event, but October 8-9 is the Bass Champs Championship.

I cant remember the last time Lake Conroe was closed to boat traffic. Heading out there now to check it out.

Tell me about it. We had anglers from 18 states... Makes me sick for everyone.

I was just at the lake and seen some broken boat docks beached, Seen a handful of boats but not many. I wasn't going to be able to make this tournament, but may can make the one in Oct.

Well that is a massive kick to the groin region

My son was fishing in the tournament and has been on the lake all day......got out there before they closed it & nobody ran him off, several other boats out there as well.
Fish were biting pretty darn good. he was pumped that he was on fish.

The lake is the highest it's been since 2002. Hate that the event had to be canceled, especially for the folks traveling long distances to get there. But let's focus on the silver lining...if they hadn't closed the lake, and someone had a tragic accident, that would have sucked even worse. And people would have been screaming that they should have closed the lake at least this way they can assure that no one is injured/killed

Hopefully by October I'll be living on the lake, and can make it out to the event

What a bummer but I understand, I've been preparing for this one for a while. I fished the lake today and even though the fish were biting I came across a lot of debris and you could see a lot along the shore line.

Sucks I probably won't be able to make the reschedule because my wife will most likely be giving birth by then.

Yea me and the wife made the trip it sucks it closed! Mark and those guys are class acts! Me and the wife are going to the Guntersville event and can't wait!

C'mon Man! I called the Best Western in Montgomery and they will not refund my money.

Easier to change a club tourny with maybe 50 people, than it is to change a tourney that will draw over 700 boats (1400 people).
