Busted Cheating!!

when was this? my wife sent this to me this morning....anyone have details on when and what trail this was?


A Houston area man has been indicted by the Wood County grand jury for cheating during a fishing tournament at Lake Fork. David Neal Pricket of Katy was charged with Fraud in a Fishing Tournament with Prize Greater than $10,000. That’s a third degree felony.

looks like the indictment was around 10/15 so it would be within a few weeks of that I guess. I guess that could've been McDonalds..

It's the guy that admitted to trimming the tail during the last day of the McDonald's on Fork.

I have a chapter in my new book The Journey of an Old Big Bass Fisherman dedicated to a gang of bass tournament cheaters that stole around a million dollars in bass tournaments in the 70s &80s before most of them were caught. One was from Texas and was working with law enforcement to testify against the others. His name was Davis and he was murdered 2 weeks before the trial. I personally disqualified one of them in April 1980. He won the battle of the lakes big bass tournament 3 weeks later (60,000 dollars). He blindsided me that night with a sucker punch! I had a maxillary facial blowout as a result. He was murdered in prison a few years after they were convicted. You can read all about it in my new book. It was in the fall last year on Sunday the last hour when he tried to do it. I am not going to say the name but it was one of the two big bass tournaments that was there last fall.

It was at Sealy, not McDonald's.

If we are going to split hairs, it was at The Lake Fork Big Bass Splash.

It's called the "Sealy Outdoors Big Bass Splash". The tournament is held on a bunch of different lakes around the country. Lake Fork being one of them.

Yeah we saw it go down, bad deal for him. Good deal for my bud Tony Climer cause he won the biggest under for the event.. That dude was about to (try) and cheat him out of it, sorry sap-sucker...

That's cause you are 7 ft tall. Nobody will correct you.

What did they do with the fish?

They allegedly trimmed the tail of a fish that was just over 16" to make it under 16" so it would be under the slot and "legal".

He did more than trim it. Looks like he took 1/2" off!

He did a sloppy job of trimming the tail too. Some people aren't above anything. Cheaters never prosper.

It used to be call The McDonald's Big Bass Tournament and originally ol' Bob Sealy advertised widely that the tourney was held to benefit the Ronald McDonald House in Galveston. (We all know, that despite giving a pretty chunk of change to that worthy cause ol' Bob has become quite the millionaire.

i think I read that 10 to 15% goes to Ronald McDonald house. I could be wrong ...
