Giant from Lewisville today...

I know I haven't been on here in awhile but this one was worth sharing. She was truly a fish of a lifetime. I snapped a few pics and video and released her to fight another day. I didn't have a scale but if I had to guess I would say between 11 to 12 pounds. By far the biggest one I've ever caught on Lewisville. And yes...I was fishing from the dock.

Lived in Denton/Lewisville for a while and fished it quite a bit. That's like 10 lbs bigger than anything I ever caught. Way to go.

Did you happen to get measurements? When I caught my big one at 11-8 out of there in 1997, we took measurements with fishing string and cut them off at exact levels of girth and length. She was 23.75" long and 19.5" girth. So, go from there if you took the measurements. Hope you did. Great catch on LEWISVILLE!!!!!! Ought to count twice since she was from there. Awesome fish! Bass fished that lake many times. Biggest I think Ive caught out of there is a few 6's. Maybe a 7 somewhere along the way.

Thanks for all the congrats yall. I caught her at 121 marina. She was in about 10ft of water. I got off work and wasn't even going to go because of the cold rain we got. Got there and the lake was up about a foot and muddy. I caught a 3 pounder in the first 5 minutes and then 5 minutes later the giant bit. I hooked her and immediately thought I had a catfish...when she came up I went into complete panic mode. I was fishing off the dock so I had to figure out how to land her over the railing. I tired her out and laid down on my stomach and grabbed my line and pulled her to me. The feeling I had when I grabbed her mouth is the reason I fish. Truly blessed. Nobody was around so I found an old stringer tied to the dock and tied her to it. I ran across the parking lot and found an older gentleman and asked him to come take pics. I snapped a few pics and a video and released her. She swam away to fight another day. She was caught on a Missle D bomb. Thanks again everybody...I'm so stoked. Catches like that don't happen often but it makes it all worth it when they do. Unfortunately I didn't have a scale...but if I had to guess I'd say she was 11 to 12 pounds. Wasn't worth killing her to find out. But absolutely the biggest bass I've ever caught at Lewisville and I've been fishing it since I was a kid. Take care guys and I'll see yall on the water.

SWEET.......very sweeeeet!....Not being a (badword), but buy a scale! I had one today that I would have thought for sure was DD, if not for the scale. Mine was right at 9lbs. I will say yours does look bigger though....NICE JOB....CONGRATS!

So honest opinions...the bottom 3 pics are of an 11.37 I caught a few years back in May during a Wednesday night tournament on Grapevine. My personal best. Fish was completely spawned out. The top two are the fish I caught at Lewisville. Looking at the girth of the fish it seems to me the one at Lewisville was bigger. But I'm not great at judging fish that big. But now it's haunting me because I just wanna know if I beat my personal best and if I did how big was she. As bass fisherman I'm sure yall can all understand. At the time in the heat of the moment my number one concern was keeping her alive. I know...I know...get a scale. I had one but lost it and just haven't replaced it. Lesson learned. For some reason I thought the lake record was 14 and some change but it's 13.63. I looked up the photos of that fish and now I'm asking myself if I released the lake record. Probably just need to let it go...she was a giant either way but we fish our whole lives to beat our personal best and it's horrible not knowing. Anyways what do you guys think judging from the pics honestly? I know there are some guys on here that have more experience than myself on fish this big. Just looking for some other opinions as I know what I think...but I guess we will never know. I'm gonna go find a corner to cry in. On the bright side she is still out there...getting bigger.

I think the bottom fish is bigger. The girth of it seems to carry forward towards the head more.

Anyways an honest opinion is what you asked and I have to say the Lew fish is bigger by at least a pound. But either way you have to call it a 5!

If you had cut some fishing line to measure length and girth you could get a better guess, but without dimensions it's had to make any sort of accurate estimate.

The one I caught yesterday was just stacked and my partner has caught several 10-11lb fish, first thing he said when she came up was man that easily dd, I really though she was too. Well put her on the scale and only weighted 8.10 she was only 22 3/4" though and really why she didn't bust 10.

Not saying your fish was the same size as mine I think yours was In the 11lb range and maybe a little heavier than the one from the vine. Just no way to know for sure unless you go catch her again and put her on a scale.

It definitely has a bigger frame. That being said, my largest fish on lewisville was nearly 26 inches and freshly spawned out. That fish only weighed 7 lbs on the tournament scales. I have caught 2 at 9lbs off Lewisville and neither was as long as that fish. Hard to say

Bottom fish looks bigger by about a pound (more overall bulk and girth). They are both great fish that most won't catch in their lifetimes.

TOO bad you didn't get length and girth with some of your line. THAT would have been TONS more accurate than I dunno and guess. I have a knife to cut the lengths of fish when I am in doubt, I measure it with fishing line and cut each to match the length and girth with. If you had those, you could get a semi-accurate weight guess. Wish I could help more. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Awsome fish! That is my favorite area of the lake to fish there are lots of big fish there. March up around Little Elm can be awsome too. You just gotta be there. I'm not big on weights and measures anymore it's the battle that matters. You had a great one havin to get around the rail and all good for you.

That fish is a solid 5 1/2 BD
