BLT Feb 27th @ Alan Henry
Anyone gonna make it to this one? I'm trying to figure out if it will be worth the drive.

If you have not fished with them they put on a good tournament.
Would like to go but will be at Amistad.

Did they change the date from 1-24-2016 to 2-27-2016? I looked at the AH site and saw that it said 1-24-2016. They must have changed it.
Yep, it's 2-27-16. Looks like it should be a decent turnout. Hoping to see 40 or so boats at least.

We just added the BLT West Texas division last year. Due to the draught most West Texas lakes were too low to fish for the last couple years. We draw around 60 boats at our Amistad division. Hubbard Creek was the main draw for our West Texas division 5 years ago and we drew 50 or so boats.
If the weather stays warm Alan Henry should produce some good sacks. We are hoping to get between 35 to 45 teams at Alan Henry and maybe more at Hubbard if the fishing picks up this year.
Hope to see you there,
BLT staff

We are thinking about it. Some one needs to build a motel there.

Alan henry lodge is a nice place to stay if you need accomodations. Come on out and fish, we need to support this trail to keep a competition of this level coming to west texas. The weather looks to be in our favor
I really wanna come out and tear it up. I haven't fished a BLT, but hear it's a solid run event

Registered last night. Weather should be nice. Come on out, there will be some good competition to test your skills against.

Ah heck, I'll donate.
Buddy of mine from Oklahoma and I signed up for Saturday. Think we are gonna do the pick 5 and try to fish 5 different lakes in TX and OK.
See you guys this weekend.
Im kinda bummed! My partner fell through and I might be able to convince a back-up partner to join me. Otherwise, I'll be leaving it to you fellas. Hopefully I can make it.

Thirty teams signed up already. I would expect 50 teams by Saturday. And the fishing has been getting a little bit better this should be a good tournament.

This will be my first BLT and first tourney in over 6 years. Never fished AH so I am going in blind and may be a donator this go round. Fishing solo so I guess I better catch all 18" or bigger on this one. Any hazards on the lake I should watch out for, that anyone could share?

Re: BLT Feb 27th @ Alan Henry - 02/26/16 11:56 AM
Hazards are marked pretty well with the exception of one that I know of. In the large cove across from the ramp and to the right there is a huge rock right under the water slightly to the left of center in the cove. Stay to the right if you go in.
The banks pretty much drop straight off in most places, but I'd just try to stay out from the Edges as there are a few longish points that stick out. Other than that, they are marked with hazard buoys. The creek arms are all no wake only once you get in them. It helps with the pleasure boater traffic. But it forces you to go slow so no way to really find something unless you're not looking

Talking to a friend that lives down there said it took 17+ to win it, the winning team had a 7+ lb big bass, too. Said 2nd big bass was like 4.25 or 1/2 or so. Said it was close for 2nd thru 4th. 12+ high and said two teams ties at like 12.02. Don't know specifics, but they should be coming out soon. Hope this helps.
Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Yeah, it didn't "take" 17lbs to win. 13 would have been sufficient for first
lots of 4 fish limits between 4-8.5lbs. Very few 18"+ fish.

3rd was 12.61 (tie)

If you are unfamiliar with Budlight, the last column from 7th on down is the amount of points earned by team. Hope this helps.
Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.
