Spoon fishing tackle?

Spoon fishing tackle? - 02/09/16 10:03 PM

What does everyone throw spoon fishing in terms of rods and reels stiffness and gear ratios? I've never really thrown a spoon outside of the smaller ones used on spinning tackle. Any justification for a new rod and reel would be helpful. peep

I use a Steez 7.9:1 reel on a Steez 7'1" medium heavy rod. Works good too. Caught about a fish a minute last Sunday. Only problem was it was white bass instead of large mouths. Haha. Well....caught 3 LMs. Then nothin-but-sandies.
