HELP!!!!Spike it on the fiber glass of my nitro!!!!

I spilled a whole darn bottle of chartreuse "spike it" garlic dye on the fiberglass on my white nitro 898!! I honestly don't think it (my boat) has a gel coat because it was made in 2003! I need to get the chartreuse off of my fiberglass!! When I spilled it I immediately rubbed a towel on it but that didn't do much. Then I hit the spot (about 1' by 1') with bleach, streak remover, windex, stain remover and multi service cleaner. I got the bulk of the color off but it still has a slight tint of yellow in that spot. Does anyone know what to use to get it off? Please help!! Thanks! I need to get it off fast

It will eventually wash away....may take months or years, just be patient.

I had a small spill of the stuff on my carpet years ago, and I believe plain old rubbing alcohol worked to remove it.

Fish for 2 weeks straight and it will disappear.

Man it only took me about 2 weeks to brake in my boat with spike it. A little spike it just means that you fish and don't just go to boat show in party cove.

I did the same thing on a 2002 white Skeeter, I wet it down with windex multi-surface cleaner let it set a little bit and it came right off,had to repeat a couple of times

Use some boat hull cleaner on it.

Spike It makes a neutralizer, but not sure if it would work on fiberglass.

I wouldn't do this. Magic Erasers have an abrasive in them...I found out the hard way on my gelcoat!

slowly wave a propane torch over the spot just the tip of the flame should touch the surface the heat will cause the flourocarbons to release the dye and it will vaporize

This. It fades in the sun. I spilled some on my carpet. Left it uncovered for a few days and I couldn't even tell where the spill was.

This wont help you now but maybe in the future...I have 6 bottles of JJ's on my boat. I looked for quite sometime for a cheap and good solution where I can dip my lures but never run the chance of spilling while doing so. I came up with the following, I use several lbs of unpopped popcorn inside a small ammo box. All my bottles are buried inside the popcorn, when I want to use I simply slowly unscrew the top and dip while the bottles are still buried in the kernels. If any falls it gets soaked up by the kernels or simply falls to the bottom of the box. I keep the ammo box on my deck and simply pop the top when needed...

I have a white basscat. Years ago a friend of mine spilled a full bottle in my boat. It was all over the carpet, the seats, and all down the inside wall of my boat. I was so upset. He felt terrible. I was told to leave it in the sun a week or so and it would disappear. So what everyone is saying about leaving it in the sun. It works.

Sounds like you just need to go fishing and it will go away while you are having some fun.

It will fade and doesn't take long in the Texas heat. If your like me your very particular about your boat and drives you crazy but it will go away.

Acetone, rubbing alcohol, WD-40, or magic eraser. Those will get nearly anything off a hard surface.

Yep. A little time in the sun will take care of it.

Acetone works. Was in that same situation once. Just make damn sure you don't get it on anything else.

Look at it as a beauty mark...now relax and get back to fishing
