It must have been the uniforms?

Re: Huge Fish on a Swimbait - 02/02/16 08:15 PM

Might be wrong, but it looks similar to a Triton Mike Bull Shad.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Showing some patience there.

That was definitely awesome. I thought you were going to leave your rod on the dock which is something I would probably do. Great video, thanks for sharing.

I'm curious about what swimbait that was. It almost looks like a duo realis? Maybe a ABT or Jerry rago? Either way it had good action and the fish sure do like it!!

Looks to be a Hinkle. I'll find out as soon as I get a text back.

Other than all the duding and broing that was pretty sweet video. I've had fish chase one to the boat but never got one to bite like that.

I would just like to have their outfits!

Re: Huge Fish on a Swimbait - 02/03/16 03:26 PM

I suspect it was a 10" bait. They can make a big fish seem smaller. I've got some baits up to 9" and have had some follows on the big baits that were excitement in themselves, just no attack yet.

Re: Huge Fish on a Swimbait - 02/03/16 03:29 PM

Wow.....it's going to take a really tough heavy duty rod and reel setup to use baits that big.
Looks like it sure works though ....
Really nice fish

Got the text back. It is a Hinkle as I thought. Hinkle Trout to be exact.

Re: Huge Fish on a Swimbait - 02/04/16 12:33 AM

I thought it was some type of glide bait.

Re: Huge Fish on a Swimbait - 02/04/16 02:02 AM

The Hinkle Glide Trout is 11 inches (I had guessed the lure was 10). It's 9.5 ounces. You can have one for a mere $175. roflmao

Update: In May, 2015, a lure like the one in the video went for $495 at auction!

it's a hinkle trout. They are outrageously expensive these days.

How do people have time to go fishing every day? I'm lucky to go once every month or two.

Cool video for sure. Those guys know what they're doing.

Re: Huge Fish on a Swimbait - 02/04/16 02:11 PM

That was a nice bass but I figured it would be bigger since the title said HUGE fish caught. I was expecting to see one that was 12+ but still it was a cool video watching the bass come up and eat the bait after several attempts at it.

Nice catch but it looks like you foul hooked it.

foul–hook
