Sounds about right compared to what the zx250 is doing. Might raise your plate for a little more rpm.

Doesn't sound right at all to me. 67 is unacceptable out of a 225 in my opinion.

Should be low 70's

my 09 ZX225 gets up to 72 mph

I have a 2015 ZX225 and that is just about what I'm seeing. 68-69 by myself and 65-66 with full tournament load.

My 07 i had ran low 70's, something isnt right

New ZX vs. old ZX not the same, FX is their top of the line hull now.

The new zx225 is a different hull. It's 19'10". Gas tank under the seat is what killed the performance. IMO.

No real need to go faster than 70 mph....over that....sucks gas....IMO.

my zx 225 will hit 73.

Yeah what you need is almost a 22' boat that runs 82 with a 250

My 2015 ZX225 will hit 71 fully loaded and 74 light.

Around 1/4 tank with 2 people 74. Almost full tank 66

Or buy the Allison XST, their entry level boat at a very respectable price. You could put a 225 on it and run in the 80's or slow it down to an easy 70 mph and double the fuel mileage your getting now. It will ride night and day better in any type of water you want to run it in. It will near double the storage you enjoy now, and a 24 volt trolling motor is way more than efficient in them. Or stick with what ya got and be happy. I'm not trying to stir a pot, just throwing out another option that most would never give another thought, until they were in one.

I have a 202C, and can get 70 MPH at 3.5 PTP, I know she has more in her if I raise the JP to 3 or 2.75.

Are you running the stock 25TI ?

Yamaha service bulletin could only get 71.0mph out of the zx225. This is with full tank. 2 guys and batteries. Remeber no tackle or livewells makes a big difference.

Is that GPS speed?

Geez I can get better numbers out of my older Tzx200. That is 19'8" with a 200 hpdi

Lol the fastest I have gotten my 20'8" ranger with a 225 hpdi is 69... I usually only get 64-66

The older ZX225s would get 70-72 GPS with the HPDI 225

Were you all the way on pad? My old ZX202 (20'2" hull too) has a best so far of around 67mph but that was at around 6K rpm on a 200hp. I'm running 2.75" below pad. The low rpm's seem like it was not completely on pad or the motor is a tad low.
